Leadership learning takes place in many settings and often when least expected. The Emerson Center and its Office of Campus Involvement believe that students learn about leading by courageously stepping up and taking responsibility -- whether it is leading a student government committee, or planning a major event for a club, or serving as a justice on the Honor Board. When these experiences occur, the Emerson Center staff helps students reflect on what happened and to help them connect this learning to concepts taught in classrooms. "Connecting the dots" between theory and practice is critical in leader development, so we take our role as "developers of leaders" seriously by coaching and mentoring those just entering leadership roles and those who are leading major campus organizations.
Leadership learning is a lifetime pursuit..it never ends.
